Homecoming Spirit Week starts Monday, November 18th – 22nd  

for 6th - 12th grade students.

​

Dress-up days dress code policies:  shorts must be uniform length or have leggings (not hosiery) underneath; if leggings are worn as pants, shirts must be as long as the end of the fingertips.

​

Monday:   Superhero vs Supervillain

Tuesday:  Generation Day:  6th – 7th graders (toddlers); 8th – 9th graders (teenagers); 10th- 11th graders (middle-aged adults); 12th graders (senior citizens – grandmas and grandpas)

Wednesday:  Movie/Character Day

Thursday:  Rhyme without reason

Friday:  Spirit/Color Friday - wear your assigned color.

    12th – Black

    11th – White

    10th – Pink

    9th – Red

    8th – Yellow

    7th – Blue

    6th – Purple

 

The parade is on November 22nd  and will start at 1:00 p.m.  After the parade, the Honor Court will be presented in the gym and then the pep rally will start with class competitions! Parents of Honor Court members will walk their students at the pre-game only, not the pep-rally.

 

The Honor Court will be presented at the basketball game Friday night at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys game.  Grace will battle the Lafayette Westminster Christian Academy Chargers.  Go Warriors!

The Homecoming Dance for grades 9th - 12th will be Saturday, November 23, at Embers, downtown Alexandria from 7 – 10 p.m. Pictures will be from 7 – 8.

The Crimestoppers Safe Schools Louisiana anonymous reporting solution was presented to our 6th - 12 grade students at school and they were asked to download the mobile app if they had a mobile device. It is also available to all parents and guardians for free through apple or google play.

 

Students can use Safe Schools Louisiana App to report: bullying, suicide concerns, depression, sexting, stealing, threats, cutting, abuse, dating and domestic violence, fights, drugs, alcohol, weapons or other types of dangerous situations that threaten their safety or the safety of others for the purpose of prevention and interventions.

 

Safe Schools Louisiana will help keep our students and our school be safer by:

·Creating a positive school culture and community

·Giving students a voice to share concerns

·Gathering information to then proactively address concerns.

·Preventing tragedies from the personal level to the community level

·Building trust within our school community

​

Please encourage your student to use this life saving technology to better our schools and community.  You can go to the app store on your smart phone to download the Safe Schools Louisiana mobile app.

TOP EDUCATOR AWARDS

Congratulations, Mrs. Janice Moreau

and Ms. Marian Deville!

Mrs. Janice Moreau was inducted into the Northwestern State University Hall of Distinguished Educators on Nov. 4th at a ceremony at NSU.

Mrs. Moreau has 47 years of teaching experience with 15 years in mentoring and supervision. She currently serves as school mentor and sponsor of the 4-H Club at Grace.

​

Ms. Marian Deville was awarded the honor of Top School Counselor at a counselor’s luncheon held at Northwestern State University. Marian has been an educator for over 52 years. She's been a school counselor for over 30 years in the parish and school counselor at Grace for over 12 years.

Thank you, ladies for your hard work and dedication.

You both are a blessing to Grace Christian School!
